Article 15 : Claimed for Discrimination
It’s been hardly some days since Article 15. A movie staring Ayushmann Khurana has been released. But the film is already facing resistance and counterblast from certain communities across the country.
On Saturday, The film has been banned by the civic administration. Under some law and order issues in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
The film which came out with an agenda of justice. Loosely based on the real events of gang rape and murder cases in West Uttar Pradesh. Is allegedly blamed to raise the issue of caste based discrimination in India. The portrayal of certain communities in the film slander their image in the society. Above all even the communities have claimed that the movie Article 15 maligns their image in the whole society.
An official order from the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate strictly prohibited the screening of this film in the city. Also, This is what SDM Ravindra Singh Negi said. ” Representative of Hindu Sena met me on Friday. They expressed their concern that the film, Article 15. Portrays a particular community in a poor light. Hence they demanded a ban on screening.”
Furthermore he added ” My view was that if the film was screened in the city. It could lead to some law and order issues. ” The local police confirmed that the screening of the film was stopped after the order was issued.
Article 15, A film directed by Anubhav Sinha has not only faced issues in Uttrakhand. But the movie has also faced opposition in Kanpur and Madhya Pradesh.
It’s not only only movie banned in UP and Uttrakhand. Movies like Kedarnath, Muzaffarnagar and many more in que has been banned in several districts of UP.
