Jiwandeep Kohli, a San Diego based neuro-scientist who is celebrating this year’s Pride month with a rainbow turban was praised and supported by the former US President Barack Obama.

Jiwandeep Kohli who’s a bisexual and a Sikh went viral few days ago on Twitter. When he shared the image of his amazing creation. Captioned “I’m proud to be a bisexual bearded baking brain scientist”. He also quoted “I feel fortunate to be able to express all these aspects of my identity and will continue to work towards ensuring the same freedom for others.”

This tweet of his got over 1 lakh ‘likes’ and more than 15,000 retweets. Adding to the long list of people who supported and commented over him is Mr. Barack Obama. A major vocal supporter of LGBTQ community and their rights.

He tweeted “You’ve got a lot to be proud of, Jiwandeep. Thanks for everything you do to make this country a little more equal. Turban looks great, by the way.” ” Happy pride month, everybody.” He added.

Praise coming from a former US president and one of the most admired men in the world is indeed a really big thing.

This tweet of Mr. Obama has collected more than 3 lakh ‘likes’.

Every year, during the month of June, the LGBT community celebrates in a number of different ways. Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognizing the influence LGBT people have had around the world.

Why was June chosen? Because it is when the Stonewall Riots took place, way back in 1969.
