Lahore : Hafiz Saeed Mumbai attack mastermind is arrested!!

Lahore: The mastermind behind Mumbai’s terror attack and the chief of banned Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) has been arrested. The Counter-Terrorism Department (Pakistan)  arrested Hafiz Saeed on his way to Gujranwala.

As per the sources, Hafiz Saeed has been taken to judicial custody . Moreover ,he has also said that he will challenge all cases against him in the court. There are about 23 terrorism related pending cases against him.

Imran Khan’s government has been under pressure from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in order to act against the terrorists operating within Pakistan.

Believed that Lahore Hafiz Saeed ‘s Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) responsible for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attack which killed nearly 166 people and left many injured.

In addition to this , The US Department of the Treasury had declared Hafiz as a global terrorist in 2012. Moreover, it also offered USD 10 million dollars as a reward to anyone who brings information leading to Hafiz’s arrest.

Under such intense pressure from the international organizations , Pakistani authorities compelled to launch investigation teams to probe into matters of JuD. Their aim was to probe into the matters of JuD’s holding and using trusts for terrorism financing.

On Monday, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore granted pre-arrest bail to JuD chief Saeed. And his three other companions Hafiz Masood, Ameer Hamza and Malik Zafar till August 3. Most noteworthy, the bail granted against security of RS 50,000 each.

The CTD has also registered an FIR against Hafiz Saeed for illegally occupying land in Lahore and setting it up for seminary .
