Those initial days where you were more than a sensation being appreciated by President Musharaff to enjoying those bike rides after every match. It was an amazing ride mate for it reminded us of what awesomeness can be. India had a roller coaster ride with you. (Woh din bhi क्या din the!)
The amazing boy without any godfather then got the amazing chance to lead the team and you’ve never looked back for you’ve reached higher and higher. I still remember the way I felt after India’s world cup (50 over was the only thing around) debacle in 2007 and we flew to South Africa for the inaugural edition of T20 world cup as under dogs and no seniors in the team. The way you’ve lead the team and got the hands on the world cup was all history after “Sreesanth takes it and India win the world cup” an amazing series.
This was the beginning of a golden Era for Indian Cricket Team where we became the doers and the winners rather than being the paper Tigers. Well you’ve achieved a feat that no other captain did in last 28 years with a sensational finishing shot. “Dhoni finishes off in style and India lift the world cup after 28 years”. You have scripted history. 😊 👍🏻 🎉
Well you had critics comment on it but you were a walking elephant. May not be the best technique but your intellect and attitude is what brought you thus far. 👍🏻🙏🏆🎉
