India is no back. Nina Tony an eight year old Indian-origin student in Dubai has been honored for her efforts in keeping the environment clean.

The eight year old has collected nearly 15,000 kg of paper waste in the Gulf emirate. As a part of a nationwide recycling campaign.

Certainly, her views on the matter was very dynamic for an eight year old.

Thus, Tony Nina said :

“I was campaigning around my area to collect paper, so that it can be recycled. Every week, i would go out to collect newspapers, magazines, and other paper. That people were throwing away or didn’t want to keep.” She said.

“I think it’s important for children, like myself, to start recycling and spreading awareness about the environment from an early age. So, we can acquire the habit of living green as we get older.”, She added.

Tony was honored on Monday during the 22nd edition of the Emirates recycling Awards in Dubai. She won the paper section in the individual category for collecting 14,914 kg of paper waste.

Major Aim and Objective of Emirates Environmental Group Dubai :

To contribute positively to the advancement of sustainable development in the UAE. By acting as a focal point for people of all nationalities and ages concerned with environmental protection and responsible waste management.

Certainly, due to this United Arab Emirates campaign. EEG is able to reduce projected carbon emissions by tonnes.

Above all, we should believe that this planet is ours and we posses a responsibility of keep it clean.
