The drone crisis between United States and Iran:
High tension erupts between United States and Iran as one of the USS Boxer shot down an Iranian drone. The crisis took place on Thursday when the US ship was entering the Strait of Hormuz.
US president Donald Trump said that ,”the USS Boxer, an amphibious assault ship, took defensive action against the Iranian drone as it was “threatening the safety of the ship and the ship’s crew.”
I want to apprise everyone of an incident in the Strait of Hormuz today, involving #USSBoxer, a U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship. The BOXER took defensive action against an Iranian drone…. pic.twitter.com/Zql6nAUGxF

“Moreover, the drone was immediately destroyed after it came within 1,000 yards (914 meters) of the Boxer’s purview” .
“The United States reserves the right to defend our personnel our facilities and interests and calls upon all nations to condemn Iran’s attempts to disrupt freedom of navigation and global commerce” .
Iran’s response on US accusations :
The top diplomat of Iran’s capital Tehran ,Mohammad Javad Zarif, told reporters that he had no information about loosing a drone as he arrived at the United Nations headquarters for a meeting with Secretary-General .
Even earlier Tehran has said that it had seized a “foreign tanker” and its 12 crew members on Sunday for smuggling fuel in the Gulf.
Most noteworthy, a senior Iranian official has denied the US statements. He tweeted that the United States might have shot down it’s own drown. Take a look below :
We have not lost any drone in the Strait of Hormuz nor anywhere else. I am worried that USS Boxer has shot down their own UAS by mistake!

Likewise , Iran has also shot down a US surveillance drone in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran said that the aircraft had violated Iranian airspace, and that the incident sent a “clear message to America”.
However, the drone’s shoot down took place after a series of frequent low level attacks in the region blamed on Tehran’s forces.
