Dubai: Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development save two girl baby twins from their mother, after videos of her torturing went viral on social media.
The mother who took the videos show the twin baby girls around six months old, crying badly while the mother beats and slaps them and also drops them from a height to the floor until a poor baby bleeds.
Also, in another video, the mother tries to choke one of the girls and seems to be telling “today I am going to kill you”.
Many in Saudi Arabia started sharing the videos on Twitter tagging the Saudi ministry of Labor and Social Development, and many other officials with a hashtag saying “Mother torturing her girls”.
Khalid Aba Khail, the spokesman of the ministry mentioned that Centre against Family Violence was notified and the authorities were looking for those babies. Khail also encouraged anyone who knows about babies to call their hotline 1919.
After the search by Saudis on social media platforms, they soon located the person who originally posted the videos.
A Yemeni citizen, Mohanad Al Hashdi, who knew the father’s family living in Yemen was behind posting these videos.
In his YouTube videos he said they were taken by a Somali women living in Saudi Arabia. The twins are only 6-months old.
The Somali mother earlier married a Yemeni and lived in Saudi Arabia. Now divorced and the man does not support her. So the woman took these videos of herself torturing her own babies. She sent them to her ex-husband’s father living in Yemen. So that he can force his son to send her money.
Al Hashdi pleaded in the videos, for the help of Saudis to save the babies. Since their grandfather couldn’t travel from Yemen to Saudi. After few hours, the ministry spokesman, Khalid Aba Khail, tweeted that they found the twins in Jeddah. They rescued the babies from the mother.
The ministry hospitalized the twins and later released to the father’s family after checkups.
“This is clearly a case of domestic violence, the babies will never be returned to the mother. Since, the mother and father got divorced, we will be looking at the father’s side of the family to take the twins” the ministry spokesmen said in an interview.
