According to Panic, they want to push the limits and create innovative products that have never existed before. For this reason, they came up with ‘Firewatch’ and the coming soon, Untitled Goose Game, and now ‘Playdate’.
Moreover, they mention on their site that they got in contact with the leading game designers, like Keita Takahashi and Zach Gage and Bennet Foddy and Inman to create games for Playdate and got amazed when they said “Yes”.
Here’s another thing: you don’t decide what games you play on this device. Yep, that’s true. The games are released in seasons and you got to play the game you get by blindly putting your hand in the game pocket. Panic says this never-seen-before feature is what will emboss interest among users. The name ‘Playdate’ means that it’ll release the games in seasons and you’ll get to play on some, ‘date’.
The device is planned to release in early 2020 and may cost about 149$. Its a fresh new entrant in the hand-held console industry. Let us see what future it holds or if it even has one or not…
